Flight Endurance

Flight duration for the Matrice 400 varies depending on payload configuration. Users can estimate endurance by selecting the appropriate payload combination to accurately assess mission time and performance expectations.

Smart AR Projection

  • Power Line AR
During power grid inspection missions, the obstacle sensing system automatically identifies forward-facing power lines and overlays clearly visible AR guidance lines on the remote controller display. This provides immediate spatial awareness and significantly enhances flight safety.
  • Map View AR
In urban environments, whether operating during the day or at night, the remote controller displays real-time building and landmark names, while highlighting primary roads with clear visual markers for improved situational awareness.
  • AR Flight Waypoints
The aircraft supports real-time route visualization during Return-to-Home, obstacle avoidance, and FlyTo operations. During landing, an AR aircraft shadow is displayed to assist operators in accurately confirming the touchdown position.
  • Live Annotations
Without the need for 3D modeling, operators can directly mark points on the controller screen to determine target locations, draw lines to measure distances between multiple points, and outline areas to calculate surface size. All measurement data can be synchronized with DJI FlightHub 2, improving coordination and overall operational efficiency.

Intelligent Flight Modes

  • Cruise Mode
Cruise mode enables the aircraft to maintain a constant flight direction without continuous stick input, making extended-distance missions and linear inspection tasks more efficient and less demanding for the operator.
  • FlyTo
In emergency or disaster response scenarios, the aircraft automatically optimizes its route and speed based on real-time environmental data, allowing it to reach a specified destination without manual intervention.
  • Smart Track
Smart Track delivers accurate subject acquisition with automatic zoom control, enabling seamless switching between multiple targets. The system can reliably re-identify a subject even after temporary visual obstruction.
  • Point of Interest (POI)
POI mode allows continuous monitoring and three-dimensional modeling of structures by orbiting a defined area, significantly improving the efficiency of fixed-location observation and modeling operations.

Features

Airborne Relay Video Transmission

With its built-in video transmission relay module, the Matrice 400 can act as a relay drone, flying high to transmit signals for another drone operating farther away. This extends transmission range significantly, making it ideal for search and rescue missions or inspections across mountainous and remote regions.

Built for Challenging Conditions

Designed with an IP55 protection rating, the Matrice 400 withstands harsh conditions including heavy dust and rain. It performs reliably in temperatures from -20° to 50° C, ensuring consistent operation and dependable results in both extreme cold and intense heat.

Full-Color Vision Assist

Four full-color low-light fisheye vision sensors provide the Matrice 400 with Full-Color Vision Assist. This feature enhances environmental awareness, enabling safer flight in low-light conditions and improving operational safety during complex missions.

Power-Line-Level Obstacle Sensing

The Matrice 400’s advanced obstacle sensing system combines rotating LiDAR, high-precision mmWave radar, and full-color low-light fisheye vision sensors to deliver exceptional detection capabilities. It identifies small obstacles such as high-voltage power lines across mountainous terrain, even in darkness, and penetrates rain and fog to ensure safe operation in challenging weather.

Takeoff and Landing on Ships

To address the needs of offshore operations such as maritime patrol and wind turbine inspection, Matrice 400 is equipped with the capability to take off from and land on ships, supporting takeoff from stationary vessels and landing on moving vessels. By detecting landing point patterns on the deck, it can achieve safe and precise landings.

Aircraft Fusion Positioning

Omnidirectional sensing from rotating LiDAR, mmWave radar, and low-light fisheye vision sensors equips the Matrice 400 with precise positioning capabilities. It can fly stably near glass facades or wind turbine blades, and return safely from building edges, mountain bases, or bridge sides even without an updated return point.

Real-Time Terrain Follow

Matrice 400 supports Real-Time Terrain Follow flight in any horizontal direction. This feature can be enabled during both manual flight and automated flight routes, ensuring stable relative height to the ground. During large-scale search and rescue operations, the size of ground subjects can be kept consistent on the remote controller screen, reducing the need for frequent zoom adjustments and improving efficiency. During mapping missions, a consistent ground sampling distance (GSD) can be maintained to obtain high-precision mapping data.

Extended Flight Time, High Speed Performance

Matrice 400's flight capabilities are outstanding, offering up to 59 minutes of forward flight time even with a payload, and up to 53 minutes of hovering duration. These capabilities make it a reliable tool for long-duration and continuous operations such as search and rescue, firefighting, and large-scale mapping. It can also avoid large obstacles like buildings and mountains at flight speeds of up to 25 m/s.

O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission System

The O4 Enterprise Enhanced Video Transmission System, using a ten-antenna setup on the aircraft and a high-gain phased array antenna on the remote controller, delivers image transmission up to 40 km. Supporting the sub2G frequency band and dual DJI Cellular Dongle 2, it automatically switches to the best carrier network, maintaining stable signals in both urban interference and remote areas.
